Description
Cornish Coast V is an original seascape in mixed media by Peter Taylor Ward. The painting is executed in charcoal, conté crayon and watercolour on paper and presented in a glazed frame.
Cornish Coast V is the fifth in a series of paintings produced from sketches made whilst visiting the county. Having family there and having studied at Falmouth, the landscape is very familiar to me. Therefore, it features in quite a few of my paintings and I thoroughly enjoy sketching the coastline.
The work depicts a section of the rugged North Cornwall coast in dark tones of grey and green. Swift, expressive mark-making gives a sense of movement and reflects the wildness of this coastline. Whilst the muted palette is harmonious and pleasant on the eye.
Presented in a glazed, wooden frame with a metallic copper finish and off-white mount. The frame is complete with fixings and picture cord ready for hanging.
Easel not included. Watermark shown does not appear on the painting.
