Head Study Tint - Resin Print Plaque

£39.00

1 in stock

Head Study Tint is a digitally coloured charcoal drawing by Peter Taylor Ward. The portrait is of an unknown sitter and was developed from a quick Life Drawing sketch. Taken with the girl’s melancholy expression, Peter adapted the sketch into a Pre-raphaelite style amending the hairstyle and costume accordingly. The rich emerald green and auburn red are also colours associated with the period.

The Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood were a group of artists who opposed the Royal Academy’s promotion of the Renaissance master, Raphael. Inspired by the theories of John Ruskin, they believed in an art of serious subjects treated with maximum realism. Their principal themes were initially religious, but they also used subjects from literature and poetry, particularly those dealing with love and death.

Head Study Tint is a digitally coloured charcoal drawing by Peter Taylor Ward. The drawing features the face a Life Model with auburn hair set against an emerald background.

The artwork was reproduced on an 8 colour printer using archival pigment inks. The paper is high quality archival, acid free, 100% cotton inkjet paper. The resulting giclée print is mounted on a 12mm deep board and finished with a thick high gloss, UV resistant Resin coating giving a tile-like appearance.
A recess in the back of the wood panel allows it to hang from a slightly protruding screw head in the wall. No additional fixings are required.
Easel not included. Watermark shown does not appear on the print.

Dimensions 205mm x 285mm x 12mm
