La Goulue is a large scale Wall Art panel by Kim Curtis. It features the figure of the famous Moulin Rouge caberet artist, La Goulue, as she appears in one of Toulouse Lautrec’s posters. The figure is lifted out of Lautrec’s artwork as a stand alone figure, concentrating on just her pose and form. The piece does not seek to reproduce the stunning graphic quality of the famous artist’s work but, instead, use the movement and colour to create a fun, exuberant wall decoration.
This one-off artwork is an oil on panel piece where the panel has been cut to the shape of the figure.
The artwork has been protected by 3 coats of artist’s gloss varnish. The panel is sealed and primed mdf with metal stripping around the edges. The back is painted in a dark grey and has a recess and metal plate attached to hang the panel from. This allows it to be simply slotted over a single screw in the wall.
The back is also signed by the artist, Kim Curtis and stamped with the Cut Loose Art Trademark.
