Sandy, Pop Art Head by Peter Taylor Ward, is one of a series of artworks taking inspiration from the 1950’s and ’60s. Taking inspiration from the classic era of PopArt, Peter has closed in on the faces and used a vibrant eye catching use of colour.

This one features Sandy. This is a fictional, sassy girl that has been inspired by the comic books of the 1950s. All the female portraits in the series have been given a name that fits either the hollywood vamp or tomboy girl-next-door types that defined women in the graphic novels of this era.
