The Big Apple is an original oil painting on shaped wooden panel by Kim Curtis. This large scale artwork is a stylised depiction of a large green apple with a water droplet about to run down it.
The piece is a strong, bold splash of vibrant green that will give impact to a room. Finished with a sleek high gloss resin coating, the Big Apple plays with light and reflection and has a green luminscent quality. The piece is distinctly Pop Art in nature by taking the humble fruit and making it a star attraction! A bit of fun to liven up an interior.
As with all the panels, we carefully cut out the shape with either a jig or scoll saw depending on the size. In this case, the painting has been protected with a layer of UV resistant artists varnish before its resin coating is applied and edges protected all the way round with a decorative, yet practical, metal strip. The backs are painted in a neutral, flat colour and stamped and signed by the artist.
