£220.00

1 in stock

The Sword & the Stone is an original framed pen drawing.

This is an original pen drawing by Kim Curtis entitled ‘The Sword & the Stone’ depicting a scene from one of the legends of King Arthur. The legendary King of the Britons has deep connections with Cornwall and so I have placed him on the Cornish coast at Tintagel with Merlin’s Cave in the background.

Having visited Tintagel on numerous occasions, I have always been struck by the beauty and romance of the coastline. it is most surely a place of magic, myth and legend. Therefore, it seemed fitting to set this scene from Arthurian legend on the Tintagel clifftops overlooking Merlin’s Cave.

The original pen drawing by Kim Curtis is one of a series illustrating famous tales from around the world. The drawing is executed in black fineliners and brush pens on hot pressed watercolour paper and presented in a glazed, wooden frame with mount. The frame is complete with fixings and picture cord ready for hanging.
Easel not included. The Cut Loose Art Watermark shown does not appear on the painting. Dimensions given, below, are the outer measurements of the frame.

Dimensions 860mm x 320mm x 30mm
