Description
Venice Building I – by Peter Taylor Ward. One of a series of ongoing works on the theme of Venice. It focuses on one of the many beautiful buildings that can be seen in the iconic city of Venice.
Buildings in Venice are largely built in the Venetian Gothic style of architecture. The geographical position of the city made it a critical middleman in trade between the Middle East and destinations throughout Europe. With this meeting of cultures and wealth, the distinctive Venetian style developed. This consists of elements from European Medieval, Moorish and Byzantine building techniques and styles.
